イスラエル軍はガザストリップでパレスチナ側の目標に対して限定的な地上戦を開始した。
本日初めてイスラエル軍部隊はガザ市のカーンユニス地区に進入して、パレスチナ自治政府軍の拠点と近隣の住宅を破壊した。パレスティナ側の情報源によれば、戦車とブルドーザーの支援を受けたおよそ１００人のイスラエル軍将兵が水曜日の夜どおし行われたこの度の作戦に投入されたという。
